Ron Wilson aka ‘Kingbrown’ The Camp Oven King is one of Australia’s leading authorities on campfire cooking. He is in fact internationally known for his skills using traditional Australian camp ovens. These skills were honed with a camp oven catering business where he cooked for many thousands of people at weddings and celebrations.

In recent years Ron has ventured into the “Low and Slow” BBQ scene in Australia. Having collected several types and styles of BBQ’s and smokers he then sharpened his skills by attending a number of BBQ master classes conducted by world class competition pitmasters.

Today he can be found travelling full time and facing the realities of cooking on the road. His main tool is a gas operated Weber Q which can be used during Australia’s fire bans and is always welcomed in caravan parks or camp grounds. Ron combines his Camp Oven baking skills with his BBQ grilling skills and his low and slow skills to create tasty recipes in his Weber Q.
